I just attempted to download the image resizer, and apparently it's not compatible with Vista.  Bummer!  I looked online for a "fix", and didn't find one.  If someone finds or has a fix, please email it to me in case I miss youre reply here.

Hi Margaret...I am so sorry you are having compatability issues. I have spoken to many that have told me there is compatability issues with Vista.  If you go to the website recommended here is what is says on the front page.

The Image Resizer enables you to resize image files with a simple right click of the mouse. The instructions below will guide you through downloading this free software onto your computer and applying it to your image files. (Image Resizer is for XP users only)

It only referenced XP users but does not say anything about not being compatable with Vista.  Have you tried emailing support from the recommended site?  I hope you can find a solution because this is the easiest and most useful softwares I have ever downloaded.

Thanks Geaorge the search feature of AR is great and resizing made easy can be done right in AR when you insert your image. You just gave me an idea for a post thanks.

A few months ago I went through a rough week. My photo editing software stopped working after an upgrade to windows.  I went through more than a dozen until I found something that worked even close to as good as my old one.  I wish I had your tip back then.

I LOVE the microsoft picture resizer and have helped many in my office install it - then I bought a laptop with Vista - and it was incompatible.  Arrgghh!  After trying a number of free resizing programs I found one that is almost as easy to use here: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/

Thanks Terri - All I can tell you is that I have owned 13 different computers and thousands of dollars worth of software in my life and this is "Hands Down" the simplest and most effective photo editing software I have ever used!  It is just amazing.

Have been a photoshop user since version 1. Can't change that. We've created automated actions that do all of it at once: resize, boost saturation, create a drop shadow, an outline, a white margin so text doesn't get too close and "save as" all at once. Takes about 2 seconds... but of course it took years to learn the program. Thank goodness that was done in the early 90's. Would be dead in the water without it.

Nevertheless, we appreciate your tip because we know it's going to be helpful and make good folks lives easier. How cool is that?

Gary - Thank you very much....like I said, this should have been called "Photo Sizing for Dummies"! I have always struggled with photo sizing and this thing made me look so good today!  It was like I was an expert in photo sizing in less than 30 minutes!  You really should look at it my friend.  It loads incredibly fast and all one has to do is select a photo, right click, and select "Resize Pictures"....It's really that easy!

I'll have to check out the software...I use paint to resize or compress files..but I have a camera with very high resolution...I hate redoing it anyway after finding out it won't fit the photo viewer correctly.

This was timely, Thanks George, as it turned out I just needed this tool right now, I downloaded it and was able to complete the work I was doing by re-sizing a photo. It is easy to use.

Maureen...you are welcome my friend.  I absolutely love this software.  You can size one photo at a time or you can select all your photos, right click, and select "Resize Photos" to resize all of them at one time!  Also, It will leave your original photos alone or replace them if you want.  This software absolutely rocks!

As you can see from my profile picture -- I needed this advice.  Thanks so much I can't wait to get started.

Don - You are very welcome.  I have used it over and over since I downloaded it a week ago.  If you haven't tried this yet you can select multiple photos and size them all at the same time.  Also, try the advanced tab and you can either make copies of your original photos or replace your existing photos!  This software rocks!

Just thought I would share this......I book-marked this a while ago, and tonight my friend called me for help on getting her pictures re-sized for the MLS.  My programs are too complicated for her and then I remembered I had book-marked this post.  So, here we are more than a month after I was last on here, and your info has helped me help someone else.

Kathy - Thank you very much.  I was amazed with the program and started using immediately and have never looked back.  It has been the simplest and most amazing programs I have used in the 27+ years I have been in real estate.  I am so glad it has worked out well for you.

George I have a question....my friend is having a hard time.  If her pictures are 300 dpi, and she clicked re-size to  medium will this change the dpi?

Kathy - My understanding is that it will change the dpi and the "Medium" setting is the most popular setting for emailing and website use.  If you want you can go to the companies website and it should explain more.  Also, if you have already download the program select a photo and then "right click".  You options will come up there.   Also you can do a "Select All" and change all your photos in a folder at once.
